Ravine Railway Club

You are a motorman of a ravine railway. Please stop your train well to the next station within the remaining time. Before you start this game, you can change the curve condition of this railway track freely.

How to Play

By clicking "START", the railway route figure will be displayed to the screen. This route figure have 2 oblongs and 8 red balls and red line. The left oblong is the first station which you are. The oblong of the right is the next station. The red line is a railway track. Your train goes around clockwise from the left station of this figure. First, railway track is curving at random. By dragging 8 red balls and 2 oblongs you can change the curve condition of this railway track freely. The curve condition of a red line will change in accordance with the position of balls and oblongs.

By clicking "GO!" that is in the right of this route figure this route figure will be deleted from the screen. And, the controller and speed meter etc. will be displayed to the screen. If you changed the curve condition of the red line of this route figure, the railway track right in front of you will curve in accordance with it.

The colorful oblong that is in the right part inside the screen is the controller of your train. By dragging mouse cursor upward on this controller, you can accelerate your train. By dragging it downward, you can slow down your train. If your train entered into the yard of the next station, you can not accelerate your train. In the case that your train passed the next station, the emergency brake will stop your train forcibly.

The speed meter is in the lower left part inside the screen. By dragging this you can move this to a favorite position.

The distance to the next station is displayed to the lower right inside the screen. Please stop your train in the place of within 3 meters from the stop position of the next station. This distance display cuts the decimal point following. Therefore, in the place where this is displaying within 2 m you need to stop your train. If you stopped your train near 0 m, your score will be added a high point.

The remaining time is displayed on the upper left inside the screen. If you stopped your train at the next station near 0 second your score will be added a high point.

The passenger number is displayed on the upper right inside the screen. Whenever you stop your train at the next station well this passenger will increase among 0 to 15. If many passengers got on your train the possibility that obtains a high point will increase. However, the train that there are many passengers is heavy.

In the case that your operation matched the following condition, your operation is a failure. And this game will be over.

You stopped your train in the places of 3 or more meters from the stop position of the next station.
Your train was late for more than 20 seconds and stopped at the next station.
Your train passed the next station.

You will advance to the next line, if you stopped your train in the place of within 3 meters from the stop position of the next station without being late. If your train went around this ravine the route figure will be displayed to the screen. And, you can change the curve condition of this railway track. If your train went around this ravine 4 times safely you will complete this game.

Time progress

Each time your train goes around this ravine time will pass. The first one round is morning. The next is daytime. The next is an evening. The last one round is a night.
Although visibility is bad as for a morning and evening, you can delete the fog in morning by setting.

Configuration

By clicking each item in the initial screen, you are able to set up the following.

Sound	ON	All the effect sound is output.
	Whistle only	The effect sound is output only the whistle.
	OFF	All the effect sound is not output.
Controller	Normal	The controller is displayed usually.
Controller	Invert	The controller is displayed upside-down.
Speed Meter	Medium Analog	The middle size analogue speed meter is displayed.
	Large Analog	The large analogue speed meter is displayed.
	Small Analog	The small analogue speed meter is displayed.
	Digital	The digital speed meter is displayed.
Fog	ON	The fog is displayed in the line in morning.
Fog	always OFF	The fog is not displayed.

Point calculation

Whenever your train is stopped in the station, the point will be calculated as follows. And the point will be added to your score.

P = passenger number
T = The absolute value in the remaining time
D = Distance to the position that you stopped from a correct stop position

Point = ( P*100 + ( 20-T )*100 ) * ( 3-D + Bonus)

In the case that your operation matched the following condition the bonus point will be added to your score.

The absolute value in the remaining time is within 3 seconds and your train stopped within the distance of 1 m.	Good!	Bonus = 1
The absolute value in the remaining time is within 3 seconds and your train stopped within the distance of 30 cm.	Very Good!	Bonus = 2
The remaining time is within 2 seconds and your train stopped within the distance of 9 cm.	Excellent!!	Bonus = 3
Your train went around this ravine 4 times. And, you completed all the operation.		Bonus + 5
Others		Bonus = 0

Increase of the passenger number

When you adjust the controller in 0 during travelling, your train will run by a momentum. If the time when your train ran by a momentum was long, passengers will increase. If you decelerated strongly, passengers will not increase much.

Challenge to 0 meter of just

Please refer to a certain mark on the opposite side of the station home, to stop in nearly 0 meter of place. The place where the peak under the mark overlaps with the screen under frame is 0 meter.
11cm Under

This is in the case that the train was stopped in the place of the front 11 centimeters.

0cm Just

This is in the case that the train was stopped in the place of 0 meter of just.

20cm Over

This is in the case that the train ran 20 centimeter excessively.

Notes

The controller and speed meter are displayed white, when the fog is displayed, if renderer is Direct3D, in the case that your plug-in is Cosmo Player 2.1 or Pivoron Player 1.0. By setting up the display of the fog to OFF, you are able to solve this problem.
In the case that your plug-in is before Cortona 3.0 or it, this plug-in will display an error message with this game. Please use Cortona 3.1 or a later version.
You can not drag the speed meter correctly while the train is running, in the case that your plug-in is Cortona 3.1 or blaxxun Contact. Please drag the speed meter while the train is stopping. This problem is solved by 4.0 or more-version Cortona.
The interval of the tie differs by the place, in the case that your plug-in is blaxxun Contact. Also, in the night inside of the tunnel is not illuminated correctly.
This game is not simulating physics phenomena.
In the case that you are using a low performance video chip, the effect of the fog may not be displayed correctly. Also, the railing of the bridge and station may not be displayed correctly.
While the train is running, the direction of the eyes may revolve by side from the front. As for the case, please push "PageUp" or "PageDown" key of keyboard twice.
